Christmas- A Reason to Celebrate
Christmas for us this year began Christmas Eve morning when Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Steve came over for a turn of the century breakfast based on the story "Little Women." That evening we went to the Christmas Eve service, lit the Christ candle and had the final reading of Advent. Afterwards, we celebrated with games, snacks, sweets, stories, last second toy assembly, and then sleep.
There is probably no more anticipated moment all year then when the fire crackles, the tree lights sparkle, and the stockings wait for the little ones to get up: Christmas morning. Breakfast was Cinnamon rolls, sausage, and eggs. There were wonderful presents, dart gun wars, and then Christmas dinner before heading off to church.
It was over much too quickly. We rejoice in the great generosity received. A small symbol for the gift of Jesus Christ to remember throughout the year.
