Rocking It in the Redwoods
After our luxurious time in Grants Pass, we repacked the trailer and headed down to the Redwood National Forest! On the way there, we stopped by the Oregon Caves National Monument, where Mom and the older girls took a very adverturous-feeling tour and Dad, Allie, and Jessica enjoyed some ice cream sundaes. Once we were at our campsite, we collasped into bed.
The next day we all enjoyed some hiking, scootering, and all kinds of adventures. I'm sure Dad's favorite part of the day was driving the 12-passenger van down the winding, narrow dirt road though the Redwood Forest to reach our hiking trail ;-)
Our final day was the the 4th of July! We celebrated our country's independence by hiking to a lovely beach tucked away on the California coast. Then after dinner, we decided we wanted to watch a few fireworks. So we bundled up and drove on down to wait for Cresent City's firework display. Actually, we waited so long that finally we left before the actual show began! (Although all the fireworks set off nearby were almost as good.)
